Reposado tequila, fresh lime, crème de cassis, ginger beer. Built tall in a highball — purple-bottomed where the cassis sinks, sharp on top where the ginger beer takes over.

Ingredients

  • 1½ ozReposado tequila
  • ½ ozLime juice, fresh
  • ½ ozCrème de cassis, a real one — Briottet or Mathilde
  • 3 ozGinger beer, spicy, Fever-Tree or Q
  • Lime wheel, to garnish

Method

  1. Combine tequila, lime, and cassis in a highball glass.

  2. Add ice. Top with ginger beer.

  3. Stir once, gently, to combine without killing the carbonation.

  4. Garnish with a lime wheel.
