Vesper

Three measures gin, one measure vodka, half a measure of Lillet Blanc. Shaken until ice-cold, garnished with a thin lemon peel. The martini Bond ordered when he wanted to be remembered.

Ingredients

  • 3 ozLondon dry gin, Gordon's if you're being literal
  • 1 ozVodka
  • ½ ozLillet Blanc, or Cocchi Americano
  • —Lemon peel, thin slice

Method

  1. Add gin, vodka, and Lillet to a shaker with plenty of cracked ice.

  2. Shake hard for 10 seconds — Bond was specific about this.

  3. Double-strain into a chilled coupe.

  4. Express a thin slice of lemon peel over the drink and drop it in.
