Bramble

Gin and lemon sour built over crushed ice, dragged through with a long streak of crème de mûre. Pretty, refreshing, faintly grown-up.

Ingredients

  • 2 ozLondon dry gin
  • 1 ozLemon juice, fresh
  • ½ ozSimple syrup, 1:1
  • ½ ozCrème de mûre, blackberry liqueur — Briottet or Giffard
  • Blackberry and lemon slice, to garnish

Method

  1. Combine gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a shaker with cracked ice.

  2. Shake briefly to chill.

  3. Strain into a rocks glass packed with crushed ice.

  4. Drizzle crème de mûre over the top — it should bleed down through the ice in streaks.

  5. Garnish with a blackberry and a half-wheel of lemon.
