- 1¼ ozBourbon or rye whiskey, rye if you want it drier
- 1 ozCampari
- 1 ozSweet vermouth, Carpano Antica or Cocchi di Torino
- —Orange peel, expressed
Method
Combine whiskey, Campari, and sweet vermouth in a mixing glass over a generous fill of clear ice.
Stir for 30 to 40 seconds.
Strain into a rocks glass over a single large cube. Some bartenders serve it up in a coupe — both are correct.
Express an orange peel over the surface and drop it in.
